[MUSIC REVIEW] I, Omega – The Ravenous

I, OMEGA
The Ravenous
[Bullet Tooth]
Verdict: 8/10
Like a cross between Affiance and Protest the Hero, I, Omega display great agility and technicality to their brand of melodic metal. Their label debut, an EP titled The Ravenous, is quite a good romp, albeit non-conclusive in the sense that it doesn’t really flow like an album. Instead, the five tracks seem to just exist by one another. Other than this complaint, The Ravenous is definitely a worthy introduction of I, Omega for any new listener. The vocal work is top notch, or at least the singing is. The screaming could use some work, as it is not really explosive or impressive sounding. Instrumentally, however, these guys really shine. With impressive writing skills, I, Omega could easily go places quickly. The Ravenous is certainly just a debut EP, but it hints to much greater things around the corner. (By Nathaniel Lay)
>> Focus Tracks: “Butchers” and “Heretics”
>> Classification: Technical Melodic Metal
>> In Conclusion: The Ravenous may lack a defined start and end, but it has five fairly powerful tracks to bestow upon its listeners. This EP certainly shows a band with skills you’ll be interested in hearing more of in the coming months.
