[MUSIC REVIEW] Johnny Booth – Connections

JOHNNY BOOTH
Connections
[Hotfoot Records]
Verdict: 8.5/10
Johnny Booth are a frenzy of energy and spitting fury. Their Hotfoot debut, Connections, is a ten track collection that is ultimately powerful and destructive from start to finish. While it does feature some exploration later into the album (which breaks up the explosion temporarily), the progressive foot steps taken sound remarkable. In fact, hearing these moments reveal to the listener an almost hidden technicality and impressive writing skill the band should certainly take further on their next record. From start to finish, Connections is one hell of a ride. While the second half is the most interesting, the first half is the most crazed and worthy of your pissed off afternoons at work. Johnny Booth make it clear they are a force to be reckoned with, and this better just be the start of their career. (By Nathaniel Lay)
>> Focus Tracks: “Pills For The Havoc”, “Connections”, “Mr. Grey”, “Ink & Sky (Feat. Tommy Rogers)”, “Field Six”
>> Classification: Hardcore/Thrash Metal
>> In Conclusion: Johnny Booth demonstrate awesome power with Connections. With further exploration – like that heard during “Connections”, “Mr. Grey”, and “Field Six” – these guys could definitely turn the scene up on its ass.
