[MUSIC REVIEW] Job For A Cowboy – Demonocracy

JOB FOR A COWBOY
Demonocracy
[Metal Blade Records]
Verdict: 6/10

Back in high school, when Job For A Cowboy was first introduced to me, I found myself immediately hooked. However, that was over six years ago and the band has done pretty much nothing to evolve their sound since. Every album is basically the same thing, making it difficult for the casual listener to distinguish which is which. This has also become an effect of the songs as well. The tracks tend to blend together because they feel too similar. Demonocracy carries the power and aggression the band has always exhumed, but considering how many times I’ve already heard this from them, I’m grown tired of the formula. It is now becoming stale and boring. Fans that have no issue with the formula being the same it has been for years will probably still love Demonocracy. Those of us that like to hear evolution and/or change from a band, however, will probably find this record to be just another metal entry to our iTunes that we will rarely visit. – Nathaniel Lay

>> Recommended Tracks: “Children of Deceit”, “Tongueless and Bound”, “The Manipulation Stream”
>> Release: April 10, 2012
>> In Conclusion: Job For A Cowboy have done practically nothing to their sound over the years, so now it’s becoming stale and tiresome. If the lack of change and evolution doesn’t bother you, then chances are you’ll love the power of Demonocracy. Those who want to hear something more exciting and new from the band may as well just skip over this one.
